something i'd never understand. society

i guess claiming yourself as a socially-awkward kid, is the new cool thing for everybody? suddenly everyone is proclaiming themselves as a socially-awkward kid, when what i see is otherwise. i know this girl, who is very friendly, very happy person, but proclaims on her twitter's bio as socially-awkward person. LIKE WHY WOULD YOU LIE ABOUT IT? IS BEING FRIENDLY TOO MAINSTREAM NOW? WHAT THE F*CK?!
